Matt
Stillert is a Sunshine Coast
based alternative blues/roots musician who has been performing for over 10
years. His unique style ranges from soothing folk melodies, to high energy,
foot stomping blues, displaying a dynamic blend of roots music. His EP release Don't Fear the Beard from
early 2012 demonstrated his promising debut, selling out the first
pressing. Since then he has re-released
the EP as Don't Fear the Beard - reissued with three exciting new tracks
on it. He uses a mixture of acoustic,
cigar box, lap steel, electric guitars, percussion and soulful vocals with
gusto. There is a real contrast from the
rich layered recordings, to his raw, high energy live shows. The opening track off his EP, Little
Yellow Wand maintained a #1 position on the Triple J Unearthed Roots
Charts with airplay on Roots ‘n All.
This song has also been featured on compilation CDs with Austep Music,
Drum Media and Impress Magazines, has been used in surf documentaries and has
been featured on all kinds of projects. With Rumble, Matt displays a more
playful, raw side, whereas The Iris is a soulful, hypnotic
number.
Matt's music is influenced by Tom Waits, Jack White, The Black Keys, Xavier Rudd and Led Zeppelin. Matt regularly performs at the following venues on the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane: The Sol Bar, Maroochydore, The Palmwoods Hotel, The Green Room, Eumundi, The Tempo Hotel, Brisbane and The Joynt, West End as well as markets around South East Queensland. In the past Matt has played at The Byron Bay Bluesfest on the busker's stage, at the Woodford Folk Festival (Pineapple Lounge), The Palm Creek Folk Festival and at Peregian Originals.

Biography
First formed in the depths of a small coastal ewok village in sector 4575, in2nation was formed by a group of brothers all fighting for freedom against the struggle of the evil emperor at 53 Oceanic.... The war raged fiercely, forests were leveled, jams were forced to happen at 2am with many litres of evil liquor... and then the inevitable happened... in2 were forced to evict to a new sector... this sector though was filled with generously endowed bossomly pleasures of the flesh and once again the brotherhood struggled through this new environment... but survived... and now... back.. meaner than ever.. with knowledge and wariness of the dreaded Succubus... this time we will succeed.. this time we will... BRING THE FUNK BACK!!!

The band’s evolution to their current sound was garnered through overseas travel and at home adventures and it stands out with splashes of Latin America beneath their heavy reggae rhythms and phat funk style. A heady mix of chanting choruses, hip hop vocals and old fashioned rock n roll round out what can only be described as a grooving great time…

The Dawn Chorus began as a share house musical experiment in a run down old Queenslander upon a Sunshine Coast mountainside. The group pulled together a bunch of basic recording equipment and set out to literally live, breathe and make music.
Their debut album, “Letters From Ropeshoe” was originally inspired by singer/songwriter Mitch Davis and his barefoot travels through Far North Queensland. Mitch traveled and lived off the land for three months before returning home with a swag full of tunes.
Once recorded, their album and live performances quickly made waves through the local music scene, capturing the attention of musician’s and music lovers alike. The band toured nationally, sharing the stage with the likes of Donovan Frankenrieter, Bonjah and You am I, appeared at many festivals around the country including Woodford Folk Festival and boldly headed over to the US for a successful run of dates.
After relentless touring and many more barefoot journeys THE DAWN CHORUS worked hard at writing and recording their heavily anticipated second album, ‘Into The Dark’. This fresh batch of songs deliver personal yet somewhat universal tales, all while making you dance. The first single ‘The Plain Song’ along with its mind bending film clip is set for release in October, with the full-length album to drop early next year.

Proactively taking the world by storm with their unique electro world fusion sound, DUBARRAY is an act that is leaving a soulful taste in their wake as they continue to journey the globe and spread their uplifting vibrations to the masses. A series of coincidences and happy accidents caused Sunshine Coast based rock, funk, and roots band, Soula, to form in late 2011. Previously known from the schoolyard and amongst various musical formats, the five that would soon be Soula found themselves thrown together in a whirlwind of magic, to practice, to perfect and to perform a massive set in under a week's notice - a show that would change the fate of the five humble musicians forever. From this very modest beginning, they quickly developed a seamless mix of edgy riffs and melodic funk/rock. Their attention to detail, massive on-stage fun and energy and an emphasis on bringing back the lost art of real music, Soula has turned into one of the best live music groups on the Sunshine Coast.
The sultry vocals of Teila Packman provide the jewel in the crown for the group's soulful performances. Soula has enjoyed a continuous barrage of high profile shows throughout 2013 along the likes of the Caloundra Music Festival, The Big Pineapple Music Festival, a spectacular New Year’s Eve performance supporting Thirsty Merc at The Mooloolaba Beach and playing to over 15,000 people as well as spreading their seed around some of the most well known venues along south-east Queensland and northern NSW. Soula released their debut EP in early 2013, quickly selling over 700 units in only a few weeks, and following since has released a brand new single and film clip Over Our Head, in November 2013. With its release came an overflow of exposure driving them full steam ahead into 2014 with online sales, radio play, shows in Melbourne and receiving over 12,000 hits on YouTube within the first few weeks of the video clip release.
